Dear UPS Driver, I Am So Sorry…

October 30, 2013 by Jo 1 Comment

UPS3

Dear UPS Driver,

I’m sure delivering a package to our home today delivered its own surprise to you.  I am so sorry my two year old was standing unclothed at the door when you made the stop.  I can only imagine the thoughts that were running through your head at this shock.

I promise he is well cared for and much loved.  In fact, he had no clothes on because he had just gotten out of the bath.  See!  We care enough to keep him clean.

It all started when another child in the house left the peanut butter out and he thought it would be fun to paint himself in it.  I’d show you the peanut butter handprints all over the kitchen and bathroom, but it’s been cleaned up.

It truly was just unfortunate timing.  I just happened to be finishing cleaning up toys from the said bath when you made the delivery.  Oh, and my 7 year old was getting dressed because he was in the bath with him.  Why he chose to do that in the living room with a glass front door is beyond me.  He’s a 7 year old boy…the thought process is sometimes beyond my grasp.

I would like to think (clearly for my sake, not yours) this is hardly the worst thing you have encountered in your job.  Perhaps you are a father and can understand how these things happen so quickly.  But regardless, please accept my apologies on behalf of myself and all mothers everywhere.  We do the best we can and what may seem odd to you, well, I can guarantee you there is a somewhat reasonable explanation behind it.  And a very embarrassed mother.

Thanks for your hard work.  It benefits my family greatly.

Sincerely,

One Busy Mama

P.S.  My monthly Amazon shipment will be here in a couple days.  I will try to have all the children clothed.
