Fun Water Games & Activities
DIY Slip and Slide – Create your own fun with a homemade version of a summer classic.
Dunk Hat – It’s a personal, portable dunk tank! Everyone takes turns putting on the hat while other players throw soft balls at two targets.
Water Limbo – How low can you go? Use a water hose with sprayer to create a stream of water players have to go under.
Water Balloon Towel Toss – This is a fun spin on a water balloon toss using a towel.
Sponge Water Bombs – The fun of water balloons without the mess at the end!
Cup Races – Use a water gun to push your cup to the finish line first!
Trampoline Waterpark – If you have a trampoline, this would be such a fun activity on hot, summer days!
Car Wash – Get a chore done while having fun getting wet. My children also enjoy washing their bikes and toy cars.
Water Balloon Piñata – Does your family love piñatas as much as mine? This is sure to be a hit.
Drip, Drip, Splash – This is a super fun twist on Duck, Duck, Goose. I learned it one year while helping at a local VBS.
DIY Water Obstacle Course – Creating this water obstacle course will take a little bit of time, but it would be totally worth it!
Paper Water Bombs – Combine origami and water with this fun activity.
Toilet Trouble Game – Flushing a toilet has never held so much suspense. Players take turns flushing the toilet to see who will get sprayed.
Foot Fishing – Who will be the one to remove the most ice from a bowl of cold water in one minute? You can use ice, marbles, or even candy for this. You can see an example in this post named frog hunting.
Frozen T-Shirt Game – Race against your family to see who can get their frozen t-shirt on first.
DIY Sprinkler – This homemade sprinkler made from a pool noodle will cost you under $2 to make. Talk about frugal family fun! And for another option, this homemade sprinkler made from an empty, plastic 2 Liter bottle is really cool too.
Fill the Bucket Game – I’ve seen a few variations of this game, but it always results in a fun race to see who fills their bucket first.
Tick N’ Tater Splash Game – Hot potato with a splash!
Water Gun Tag – Another fun twist on a classic game. The player who is “it” tries to tag other players with a squirt from the water gun.
Angry Birds Water Balloon Game – Your children will love trying to hit the pigs with angry bird water balloons!
Water Balloon Baseball – A whole new way to play ball! This game combines two favorite summer activities into one.
